Mt. Tammany Hiking Adventures with Taylor & Natalie

Written By: Taylor Rondanini & Natalie Koeber

Hey everyone! So Natalie and I decided to go on a hike and document our experience so if people wanted to do it in the future they would know what they were getting into. We wanted to do a dog friendly hike so we could bring Natalie’s dog, Roscoe, with us. This was our result :)

Hike: Mt. Tammany in Kittatinny, it oversees the Delaware Water Gap

● Dog friendly

● Lots of rocks

● Moderate difficulty

● Not over crowded but we went early in the morning around 9:30, we finished the hike around 12:30 and it started to get busy

● Followed RED markers up, BLUE down

● Parking: Kittatinny Point Visitors Center

● Bathrooms were not open

Tips

● Bring lots of water and maybe some snacks

● Go earlier in the day, like I said it did start getting crowded as the afternoon came around ● The first lookout that you get to is the only spot you really get a good look at the water gap, take tons of pics. We wish we would’ve stayed a little longer at that spot before moving up the trail

● Dress appropriately, it is a trough hike so wear proper shoes and bring a backpack just in case you want to add or lose layers

● Kid friendly! We saw lots of children on our way down but the way all the way up might be a little difficult for the younger ones. However there are other trails that just lead to the waterfall and the bridge.

● HAVE FUN! We loved this hike and so did Roscoe, all in all a great way to get outside, stay active, and enjoy a beautiful day with friends and family

** Natalie and Taylor have been in quarantine together. Throughout their trip, they stayed safe and keep to social distancing requirements!
