Charlottburg Reservoir Trail

Written By: Debriella Debrecki

A beautiful site full of hiking, fishing, quadding, and wildlife. If you are looking for a trail that’s easy on the legs but doesn’t fail to make you say “WOW” this is the spot for you!! Directions: Route 23 south, take the exit onto Green Pond Road, about 600ft down Green Pond you will reach the train tracks (you can either drive your car beside the tracks or walk to the entrance of the trail - about 1 mile).

This trail is 7 miles and follows around the beautiful Charlotteburg Reservoir. The trail is a consistent 10 feet wide and well kept which ensured our safety from the occasional quad that road by. The hike is relatively level with minimal hills to climb (unless you decide to jump onto one of the trails that branches off the main down to the reservoir, which I highly recommend!) All of that being said, this hike is the perfect family nature trail — your young ones will not struggle, and the rest of the family will love the views! It is not rare to see the occasional chipmunk and deer. Do heed caution for bears, as always! I also highly recommend bringing your fishing gear along with you! If you have any top water lures they will surely get you bites galore!!!!

This trail has definitely been added to my top 5! It can be completed with ease and there are endless activities that you can take part in! Take your family on this beautiful nature walk and let me know what you think of it, or if you find anything you want to share!
