Have you ever heard of a Rube Goldberg Machine?

For those of you that haven’t heard, a Rube Goldberg Machine is a large contraption that completes one simple task in a complex way. These machines have been around for a while, becoming less popular over the years. However, in more recent times, the Rube Goldberg Machine has been making a comeback.

I know I can speak for all of us when I say that quarantine has been driving us crazy. That being said, I think it could be fun to put that “crazy” to work.

This week I want to challenge you to use random items in your home to create your own Rube Goldberg Machine. What’s so fun about this machine is that you can start small and simple, but your end result could have evolved to something much larger and intricate. So in this experiment, let your creativity run free!

I encourage you to get your kids involved, use the house pets, or even build outside. The possibilities are endless! There is no right or wrong way to construct one, the only limit is your mind. I can speak from experience when I say, there is no better feeling than setting your project into motion and watching your creation come to life!
